Our Story

A young institution, built with an old-fashioned idea: that patient, disciplined ownership is still the surest way to build something that lasts.

How ICSA Began

Founded on a simple conviction.

The Investment Corporation of South Africa (ICSA) was founded by Katlego Zwane, a South African entrepreneur, with the vision of building a long-term investment institution focused on creating enduring value through responsible ownership, disciplined capital allocation, and strategic partnerships.

ICSA was established to invest in businesses operating in sectors fundamental to South Africa's economic growth — industries that employ people, move goods, house communities, and power the economy.

Where We Invest

Sectors fundamental to the economy.

Banking & Financial Services

The institutions that extend credit and keep capital moving.

Transportation & Logistics

The fleets, routes and hubs that move goods to market.

Real Estate & Construction

The spaces and infrastructure a growing economy needs.

Energy

The businesses that keep industry running and secure.

Infrastructure — and other strategic sectors over time

The physical and economic infrastructure that underwrites growth, alongside new sectors we will enter deliberately as the Group matures.

An Honest Starting Point

Early-stage. Institutional in mindset.

ICSA is in the early stages of its journey. We are building it with the discipline, governance and long-term mindset of an institution many times our size — not because we are there yet, but because that is the standard our founder set from day one. Our ambition is to become one of South Africa's leading private investment holding companies, earned one disciplined investment at a time.
